Booklet about consumerism.

Buy Now / Pay Later

Buy Now / Pay Later played with the trade offs between women’s domestic liberation and consumerism. The assignment was to create a booklet which used contrasting visual language to present two sides of an issue.

Buy now - shows happy 50s styled women with appliances.
The positive side of increasingly cheap appliances — less time spent by women doing domestic labour.
Pay later - show women being overtaken by piles of appliances.
The negatives of consumer culture — waste  from planned obsolescence and power consumption.
